TI:ME (the Technology Institute for Music Educators) has received a grant from NAMM, the International Music Products Association, to train 10 secondary Mathematics teachers in the lesson plans created last year and posted at www.connectwithmusic.org in the Math section. The lessons have been piloted by Eighth Grade Math Teacher Katy O’Malley at the Franklin Avenue Middle School in Franklin Lakes, NJ. The training will be led by James Frankel and Katy O’Malley.
There will be four Saturday training sessions. Attendance at all four sessions is required: October 13, October 20, October 27, and November 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m at the Franklin Avenue Middle School. The training sessions will be based on the lesson plans posted in the Math section of the website www.connectwithmusic.org. The training sessions are free and there is a $250 honorarium offered for participating teachers. TI:ME is a registered provider of Professional Development Hours for the State Of New Jersey. All participants will receive 16 hours of PD time upon successful completion of the training.
