TI:ME Welcomes Three New Board Members

TI:ME is pleased to announce the appointment of three outstanding educators to their Board of Directors: Robby Burns, Gillian Keller, and Kevin Longwill. Each brings unique and complimentary musicianship, instructional experience, and technological leadership that strengthens TI:ME’s mission to support meaningful, forward-thinking integration of technology in music education.

Robby Burns

Robby Burns is a music educator, freelance percussionist, and technology specialist based in Ellicott City, Maryland. He teaches band and general music at Ellicott Mills Middle School in the Howard County Public School System. He also maintains a thriving private percussion studio, with students who have gone on to earn music degrees, perform professionally, and participate in state and district honor ensembles. Robby serves on the Executive Board of the Maryland Music Educators Association as Technology Chair and is the 2025 recipient of the TI:ME Mike Kovins Teacher of the Year Award. He presents at conferences across the country on music technology, Apple products, and digital organization tools that support creativity and productivity in the classroom. He is the author of Digital Organization Tips for Music Teachers, published by Oxford University Press, and hosts the Music Ed Tech Talk podcast, where he explores the intersections of music, education, and technology. As a versatile freelance percussionist, he performs in orchestral, jazz, rock, and theater settings. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is a National Board Certified Teacher.

Gillian Keller

Gillian Keller teaches K-12 Music Production and Engineering at Maplewood Public Schools in Maplewood, MN. She was recently named 2024 Yamaha “40 Under 40” Music Educator, 2024 TI:ME Teacher of the Year and MDE Minnesota Changemaker. Gillian has been nationally recognized for her work in electronic composition, and is an keynote speaker, clinician, and adjudicator for state and international music conferences and competitions. She has collaborated with companies such as Ableton Live, Yamaha, Zildjian, Novation, and Jamstik to design new music technologies and curriculum for the classroom. As a music technology graduate student at New York University, she continues to perform IRB research in collaboration with Dr. Alex Ruthmann, Director of the NYU MusEDLab, for developing curriculum, new music ensembles and web applications.

Kevin Longwill

Kevin Longwill is an educator and musician based in the Philadelphia suburbs. He is a member of the music faculty in the Abington School District, where his coursework focuses on music industry and artist development. Additionally, Kevin is the director of M3 (Modern Music Makers); Abington’s music industry program which features a student-run record label, production company, and performing ensembles. He also serves on the faculty at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance, where his coursework focuses on music education and application within the music industry. Kevin frequently works as a presenter, clinician, and consultant to assist students, educators, and districts in developing music industry and commercial music programs in schools.

TI:ME celebrates these three exceptional educators and looks forward to the insight, creativity, and leadership they will bring to the organization. Their contributions will help TI:ME continue supporting teachers, expanding professional learning, and advancing the role of technology in music education nationwide.
