Materials:

Quicktime for Windows
Internet
synthesizer

Objectives:

Students will create background music for a tv commercial in real time
Students will critique each others work

Procedures:

Teacher will give each student a tv commercial without the sound track.
Students will search for specific sound that they think they might use for the given commercial
Students will improvise melodies and harmonies to the given commercials.
Students will compose a specific sound track for the commercial
Students will perform composition in real time in front of the class
Students will evaluate each others work

Evaluation:

Did students use ideas such as color, contrast, fluidity, and motion to prepare them for this exercise?

Follow Up:

Students will add audio voice over to this video using Digital Performer.
