Students will create a melody from notes C,D,E,F,G.
Students will choose ether quater notes (number 5 ) or half notes (number 6) and then play the pitch on the keyboard

Students open up Finale “Creating a melody”.mus file.
Students drag a note to fill up each measure matching the given rhythm. Have the students play it back and make corrections.

Students then will play their melody for the class. They can do this at their computer. (I would have them send it to my computer and I would show the class their melody on the smart board.) Students would then talk about their feeling about the melody.
