Materials:

IMac (os9), T1 line, Notepad, paper/pencil

Objectives:

The students will be able to access information on the web, document the information, organize and present the information in a well-written document.

Procedures:

1. turn on IMac
2. open “Internet Explorer” by click on it’s icon (http://www.google.com/)
3. enter: Maynard Ferguson in the browser (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=maynard+ferguson)
4. Click on the link: The Maynard Ferguson Tribute Page – Maynard Ferguson News (http://maynard.ferguson.net/news.html)
5. Click on: his web site (http://www.hessionssessions.com/)
6. Click on: Bio (http://www.hessionssessions.com/bio.html)
7. students will take notes on the the artist noting at least ten facts regarding the artist’s instrument, education, training, professional experience, family influences, activities other than musical, etc.
8. assignment:
the students will write a one page paper regarding the artist. The paper will include at least ten facts (as found on the web site). The paper will present the facts in an well-organized format using the pre-established SHS rubrics for writing.
