We are pleased to announce that the 2nd annual TI:ME Dunphy-Rudolph Administrator of the year award will be presented to David Mash. This award recognizes an administrator that has made exceptional contributions to the use of music technology in the music classroom, with candidates being nominated and selected by TI:ME's officers. The award will be announced at the TI:ME National Conference in San Antonio, Texas, February 9-13 in the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center.
David Mash is the Senior Vice President for Innovation, Strategy, and Technology for Berklee. In his 40-year career at Berklee, David has led the integration of technology into the curriculum, created what is now the Electronic Production and Design department at Berklee, led faculty development in the use of technology in music instruction, as well as overseen the technology infrastructure that supports all of Berklee's use of technology, for an institution known worldwide for its expertise in contemporary music and production. David has been an early adopter of music technology and is often the one to whom people turn for advice when developing new products and services.
He has been active in TI:ME since the beginning, and was a primary author for the organization’s Technology Strategies for Music Educators, a book which established the definitive taxonomy of technology competencies for music educators. He was a founding member of TI:ME’s Board of Directors, served for twenty years, and his advice is highly respected by the group. He was often referred to as the "Dean" of TI:ME. He also enjoys the appreciation of his colleagues and the teachers he serves. The level of music technology proficiency that he has achieved and fostered at Berklee, and inspired around the world is remarkable.
