The election is over, the results are in and it was an amazingly close race! Congratulations to Dr. C. Floyd Richmond, TI:ME's new President-Elect. A very special thank you to candidate Stefani Langol, who has a lot of supporters from the TI:ME membership. This close election showed that every vote was important!

As President-elect, Dr. Richmond will serve a term of two years, after which he will ascend to the presidency. The President-elect, upon election, immediately becomes a member of the Executive Committee. The office officially begins with our October 2012 Board of Directors meeting. The TI:ME Board of Directors will now hold a special vote to begin Dr. Richmond's term of President-elect prior to the October Board of Directors meeting.

Dr. C. Floyd Richmond is a music education and technology specialist and a member of the Valley Forge Christian College music faculty. He is frequently called on for school in-service days, and local, state, and national conferences.

In July of 2007, he was the keynote speaker at the Technology Institute for Music Educators (TI:ME) Asia conference in Singapore.

Dr. Richmond is the author, coauthor or editor of nine course books on music technology. He is the editor and coauthor of Hal Leonard's Technology Strategies, and chapter author for Thompson's Technology Guide for Music Educators. He is the primary author for Alfred's Composing Music with Notation, and co-author for Alfred's Playing Keyboard, and Sequencing. He is also the primary author of Thomas Nelson's Audio, Video, and Media in the Ministry.

He is the chair of the education and curriculum committee for the Technology Institute for Music Educators, and has served in that role since its inception. He is active with the Association for Technology in Music Instruction (ATMI) and has served as the chair of their conference committee. He serves as a member of the editorial board of the Journal for Technology in Music Learning (JTML). He teaches music technology courses around the country, and in recent years has taught at Ball State University, Boston University, Kent State University, West Chester University, Villanova University, Five Towns College, and Valley Forge Christian College.

Prior to my becoming Executive Director of TI:ME, I got to know and had the pleasure to work with Floyd on books I worked on developing with TI:ME's Publications Committees and also as the acquiring publisher for the Thomas Nelson book Audio, Video and Media in the Ministry,(which I am co-credited with, but wrote not a word of) and have enjoyed working with Floyd in several areas since taking on this job last year. Floyd is outstandingly dedicated, extremely talented and is going to make an excellent President-elect and ultimately, President, of TI:ME

"My membership in TI:ME has changed my life. I was originally trying to integrate technology in my music classroom with little knowledge other than information that I had researched. When I discovered TI:ME, I FINALLY had access to resources that I could immediately use. I was able to network with other professionals and get advice. My TI:ME membership has enabled me to learn more - and teach my students using music technology. If you haven't signed up for TI:ME - it's about time!."
