TI:ME Returns to Texas TMEA in 2017 for a One-Day Pre-Conference Event Only!
TI:ME is currently accepting proposal submissions for the 2017 TI:ME Southern Regional Conference which will be held February 8th in the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio Texas. We had over 600 registered attendees at the 2016 pre-conference. In 2017, the only TI:ME events will be on the Pre-Conference Day of Wednesday, Feb 8th.
There will be no other TI:ME sessions during the rest of TMEA, and we will announce a separate registration for the Pre-Conference in the coming weeks via the TI:ME Website using EventBrite.
TI:ME is grateful to TMEA for the support and space provided for this event. We encourage TI:ME members and presenters to attend the TI:ME Southern Regional Conference (February 8) which is a "pre-conference" to the TMEA conference (February 9-11), and we encourage them to remain and attend TMEA's conference as well. Separate registration for the TMEA conference is required. See their information at http://www.tmea.org.
The deadline for program proposals is October 31.
All session applicants must be current TI:ME members and selected presenters must register for the TI:ME pre-conference.
This 2017 TI:ME Pre-conference will provide targeted professional development on using technology for teachers in three categories:
- Elementary General Music
- Secondary Music (Band, Choir, Orchestra)
- Music Technology (Technology Based Classes and Instruction)
All sessions will be reviewed by a committee in order to select a balanced program of sessions.
Anyone having previously submitted a proposal to TMEA for their Thursday through Friday conference, should resubmit a proposal for the TI:ME pre-conference on Wednesday.
Within each of the following suggested categories TI:ME will host lecture/presentations, hands-on tutorial sessions, and product demonstrations. Presenters are encouraged to propose beginning and advanced sessions. TI:ME is also interested in presenting live performances utilizing virtual, electronic instruments, MIDI and/or other music technologies.
Sessions that emphasize competency acquisition will be essential so that attendees leave with new skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm. Session titles are the most important factor in drawing an audience for your session. Choose intriguing, easy to understand titles.
Each room will be equipped with a data projector, projection screen, and sound reinforcement. Presenters will need to bring their own presentation computer/tablet and any necessary video adapters. TI:ME does not provide internet service and wi-fi is not guaranteed (plan accordingly).
Deadline for submissions is October 31, 2016. Programming decisions will be announced approximately November 30, 2016.
