The Publications Committee (PubCom) has been busy seeking authors for book-length projects through a new affiliation with Alfred Publishing. Several TI:ME members have expressed interest in pursuing these projects which are in the final stages of development.  In addition, we’ve had an opportunity to submit articles for Southwestern Musician, the journal of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA).

The TMEA journal submissions were launched by Amy Burns’ excellent article “Engage Your Students With Today’s Technology” in the August 2012 edition. Among future contributors are Brian Laakso (November), Barbara Freedman (January) and Joe Pisano (February). Authors still needed for April and May!
Additionally, veteran TI:ME member John Kuzmich is looking for contributors to School Band and Orchestra (SBO) magazine; another great opportunity for authors due to its international readership. Joe Pisano and Dr. Kuzmich recently co-authored “The Emerging World of Online Professional Development” for the September 2012 edition of SBO Magazine.

As a TI:ME member, if you have a project idea that you would like the committee to consider, (either book length or a 1200/1500-word article),  please contact me via email. We want to make sure all interested authors within the organization have opportunities to share and be published.

"My membership in TI:ME has changed my life. I was originally trying to integrate technology in my music classroom with little knowledge other than information that I had researched. When I discovered TI:ME, I FINALLY had access to resources that I could immediately use. I was able to network with other professionals and get advice. My TI:ME membership has enabled me to learn more - and teach my students using music technology. If you haven't signed up for TI:ME - it's about time!."
