Materials:
projection screen

computer (laptop is easiest)
Music Ace software
Objectives:
Students will be able to identify the staff, and the lines of the staff by watching lesson 1 of music ace.
Through the Music Ace Software, students will be understand that notes placed high on the staff sound high, and notes placed low on the staff sound low.
Students will play the games in unit one. Teacher will assess if objectives have been reached.
Procedures:
1. Introduction – review melodic contour (5 minutes)
2. Arrange students so they can all view the screen
3. Open Music Ace and show students lesson one.
(10-15 minutes)
4. Play games, allow indivdual students to take turns
– 10 minutes
5. Close program , give students a verbal review
Evaluation:
While students are taking turns playing games, have the students who are not at the computer tell the answer to their neighbor. Teacher can focus on the child at the computer, but the other stuents will also be getting practice
Follow Up:
Play games of lesson one again, but this tme set up the class into teams, with each team taking turns answering the questions.
