Objectives:
Students will develop an understanding of how solfege syllables are used in all the keys. They will then be able to transfer that knowledge to other melodies and be able to apply sight singing.
Procedures:
Students will be given a worksheet on key signatures in the sharp keys with the key name and solfege syllables written out. They will then be asked questions to understand the way of figuring out what the key note is. They will then write solfege syllables on some given melodies in various keys.
Evaluation:
Students will be able to apply this knowledge to accurate sight singing.
Follow Up:
Similar worksheet using the flat key signatures. More sight singing with more complicated melodies.
