Materials:

Objectives:
1. The student will identify the quality of triads (major, minor, diminished or augmented) built on the different scale degrees in three major scales.
2. The student will use the note entry tool to build triads.
3. The student will use the lyric tool to label the quality of each triad.
4. The students will listen to the different examples, which they have created.
Procedures:
1. The teacher reviews the number of half steps in a M3, m3, dim3 and aug3.
2. The teacher introduces/teaches which types of thirds (M3, m3, dim3 or aug3) are used to build major, minor, diminished or augmented triads.
3. The students use the note entry tool to build triads on each scale degree in the requested keys.
4. The students use the lyric entry tool to label the quality of triad.
5. The students will attempt to label the example, which is based on a minor scale.
6. The students play back the scale triads in the different key centers.
7. The students save assignment to their music theory folder.
Evaluation:
The students will print a hard copy of their work for teacher evaluation.
