A basic knowledge of the notes and fingerings on their instrument

The students will complete the Major Key Signatures & Scales worksheet along with guided instruction by following the instructions listed.


Introduce the worksheet. Work through the examples with the student (until they understand). Have them finish writing the keys on their own. Have them play some of the scales when they have completed the worksheet.


Check the worksheet.
Go over and re-teach and redo as necessary.

Follow Up:

Continue to question about keys in the future.
Go on to minor scales.
Go on to modes.
