Objectives:
Students will be able to use the expression tool to add dynamic markings to the piece.
Students will be able to use the articulation tool to add articulation marks to the notes.
Procedures:
Students open the assignment template with music notation software (NotePad)
Teacher demonstrates the proper use of the expression and articulation tools.
Students are given time to experiment with the tools.
Students add expression and articulation markings to the assignment template.
Students share their work with a partner.
Students present work to the class.
Students identify dynamic and articulation marks in each project.
Evaluation:
The students will evaluate the work of others by identifying the articulation and expression markings in each project by listening.
Follow Up:
Using the Smart Shape tool:
Add hairpin crescendos and decrescendos.
Add slurs.
