Everyone at TI:ME is terribly sad to announce the death of Fred Kersten, who passed this week. He was an ardent supporter of the organization for decades, a TI:ME Certified Instructor, who helped countless undergrads become TI:ME certified through his presentation of our course materials at Boston University. He has been a regular presenter at TI:ME and ATMI conferences over the years and in addition to being a gifted thinker, was a warm and genuine human being. He was also an extremely talented jazz recorder player, doing things with a recorder that most people don’t know was even possible. He has had a positive influence on untold colleagues around the country. He was a pioneer in music technology instruction at Boston University and impacted many students there. He will be greatly missed.
