Materials:
Sight singing worksheet
“Amazing Grace” arr. Jack Schrader; Hope Publishing Co. GC1006C SATB
Objectives:
Students will sing “Amazing Grace” using solfege syllables with 90% accuracy.
Procedures:
Students will determine the key of the excerpts.
Students will write the solfege sylables below the music examples in section 1.
Class will discuss and review the examples.
Class will sing the example, using solfege sylables.
Evaluation:
Students will demonstrate an understanding of the material by writing the solfege syllables on the worksheet and singing the music example.
Follow Up:
Students will locate the melody in the Schrader arrangement of “Amazing Grace” and sing, using solfege.
