Materials:

Worksheet/ Music notation intergrated with text and graphics -Sibelius Notation program

Objectives:

Students will learn the purpose of the 5 lines & 4 spaces of the treble clef Students will learn to indentify the treble clef sign. Students will learn and memorize the names of the 5 lines of the treble clef staff. Students will learn and memorize the names of 4 spaces of the treble clef staff Students will complete a treble clef staff worksheet

Procedures:

1-Explain what is a treble clef staff – relate to reading a book (5min.) 2-Explain what is a treble clef sign. Show how it is drawn on the staff. (5min.) 3-Teach the names of the lines of the stave beginning with the bottom (1st) line. Have students memorize the words “every good boy does fine” .(7 min) 4-Teach the names of the 4 spaces beginning with the bottom (1st) space Have the students memorize the word”face” to remember the spaces of the treble clef staff.(7 min) 5-Have students complete treble clef worksheet (6 min.)

Evaluation:

Complete a notational worksheet of the treble clef staff.

Follow Up:

Review and begin lesson on the understanding bass clef.
