The music “Va Pensiero” SATB Microphones Pro Tools Computer and speaker


1. Students will practice “Va Pensiero” using the pre-recorded session in Pro Tools (5 tracks). They can mute four out of five of the tracks and reinforce their voice part. They can also sing along with one or two parts. When they are secure with their part, they will sing with track 5 only which is the accompaniment. 2. After each student has completed the above steps (within a week) they will be tested while singing with a quartet (one per part) and recorded


1. Lay down the five tracks on Pro Tools of “Va Pensiero” 2. Monitor each student’s practice progress. 3. Set the choir up into quartets 4. Put up a sign-up sheet for test times – students have five days to test. They will sing for the teacher only during non class time 5. Be sure the computer stations and microphones are set-up appropriately 6. Develop an evaluation sheet for the students to fill out when they listen to other students’ performances (recorded)


1 The quartet test sung after the practice sessions are completed and the recordings of each group 2. Recordings will be played for other students who will assess the performance and give suggestions for improvement on the evaluation sheets given out

Follow Up:

1. Teach the choir Pro Tools 2. Have them record their singing on Pro Tools,edit the tracks and burn a CD
