paper and pencil for each student
Objectives:
Students will be able to give a brief historical background of Mozart.
Students will be able to describe a piece of music written by Mozart.
Procedures:
1. Students will go to the computer lab for the class.
2. Teacher will have students launch internet explorer
3. Students will do a search to find a web site about
Mozart. (5 minutes)
4. Students will find and write down the following
information. (10 minutes)
when Mozart was born
and when he died.
when Mozart began composing music.
when Mozart composed his first symphony
where Mozart lived most of his life
one other fact they found interesting
5. Students will find a musical example (the first minute of the piece)
They will describe which instrument
families are used, tempo, and dynamics, meter,
and tonality. They will also tell one thing they like
about the piece, and one things they would change
if they could. (15 minutes)
6. Students will Disconnect from the internet and hand in their papers.
Evaluation:
Teacher will use visual observation and papers to evaluate students.
