Prior Knowledge and Skills:
Students have had a Tutorial/Practice session using Sound Forge Le and a demonstration of recording using the mic.

MENC 4: Composing and Arranging Music within specified guidelines.

Materials:
Spare Audio CD files for students who don’t bring their own.
Objectives:
Students will create a sound composition using Sound Forge. Students will record one sung, spoken or instrumental clip in the composition.
Procedures:
One class will be spent in learning the basics of Sound Forge and recording with the mic. The class will spend the next two classes creating their compositions using CD Excerpts that they bring into class.
Evaluation:
Students will listen and critique the class compositions.
Follow Up:
Using EQ and Reverb effects to enhance student pieces.
